Fundacio Universitaria Balmes
UVic is a public university under private management. It is owned by the Balmes University Foundation, two-thirds of whose Board of Governors is composed of representatives of local and Catalan national authorities. It has a contract programme with the Catalan government, and participates in the public university enrolment system and public student grant schemes.
