The webinar will be on December 15th at 2 p.m. CET to present ESA’s new call here on “Inclusive and Accessible sport”

As you may well remember, the European Space Agency (ESA) and the European Platform for Sports Innovation (EPSI) signed a Memorandum of Intent for supporting purposeful innovation in the sports industry. As part of these joint efforts, we like to invite you to a webinar where we will present ESA’s call for kick-start activities on the intended tender dedicated to the theme ‘Inclusive and Accessible Sport’. The webinar will take place on December 15th at 2 PM CET.

New challenges in sports can be overcome through the new opportunities the technological sector is developing. After the drastic decrease the pandemic has brought in this sector, ESA has planned the kick-start activity for the intended tender about sports inclusivity through innovative space-related technologies. The aim is to encourage pre-pandemic levels of activities, fostering strategies of inclusion and adaptation by using products and services that can make the sports industry more accessible. EPSI will contribute to ESA’s efforts by further promoting the call within the sports ecosystem.

The call will select companies’ projects that have the purpose to reach the specific goals defined by ESA:

  • Enhancing performance.
  • Building resilience
  • Promoting digital engagement;
  • Supporting the creation of inclusive and accessible sports equipment.

These objectives must be achieved through digital technologies directly connected with space resources, such as satellite communications, satellite navigation, positioning and training, and satellite earth observation. During the open debate sessions of the webinar, participants will have the opportunity to discuss their project ideas.

The call for proposals is currently open until January 20th, 2023, and will provide activity kickstart support in the aforementioned domains. The webinar will be hosted on December 15th from 2 to 3 pm CET and participants can register at the following link
