Many people believe that ISPO Munich is the most important fair in the sport industry!

Between the 27th and the 30th of November 2022 the partnership of the EU project SmartSport4GoodLife, one of the European Cluster Partnerships for Excellence co-funded by the COSME programme of the European Union, composed by the sports industry clusters INDESCAT, Cluster Sports & Technology, Cluster Montagne, MSE Cluster and the European Platform for Sport Innovation – EPSI, traveled to Munich and organized an exchange with the aim of visiting the most important fair within the sport sector, ISPO Munich.

ISPO Munich is the leading international trade fair for the sports sector, specialised in sportswear and fashion (sports clothing, mountaineering equipment, gym equipment, sports shoes, textiles, etc.). It is a benchmark event for discovering the latest trends and innovations in the area of sports and sports equipment, focusing on five segments: outdoor, snow sports, sports fashion, health and wellness, and textiles.

The partnership had a common booth with member companies of the clusters, such as Athos, Bos Sports Consultancy, Buff, FreshSnow, Greenholds, Improfit, Mat group, Neu Boots, NZero, Ocisport, Powerinstep, SeYu, Spinracing Szolnok- Group Therapy, You.Fo and The Andorra Esports Cluster. At the ISPO Brandnew area SMEs could present the use of technology & innovation in the sport sector through their products and services. This was also a great opportunity for start-ups in the sport industry to expand their network and open up to the international market.

On Tuesday, 29th November at 13h, SmartSports4GoodLife partners and AFYDAD – the Spanish Sports Association held an ISPO Networking Lunch at the Paddel Village, which was also a good opportunity to establish relationships between the rest of the participants with similar professional interests, and generate business opportunities.

All participating start-ups of the exchange were very pleased with the outcome of the fair, as they met new possible customers, or even had new ideas for new projects. They not only got into contact with third exhibitors but cooperation possibilities were identified among the members of the partnership as well.
