Following the annual consultation meetings that have taken place over the past three years with the title “European Expert Advisory Group – Skills and workforce development challenges in the sector”, organised as part of the ESSA-Sport project, The European Observatoire of Sport and Employment is glad to inform that the Project ended at the end of the year 2019 and the final report as well as all requested deliverables and annexes were submitted to the European Commission.
The final outputs/deliverables have been finalised and published, and can be downloaded from the ESSA-Sport website (www.essa-sport.eu). The list of public final outputs of ESSA-Sport includes:
A European Report on Skills needs identification: Situation, trends, perspectives and priorities for the sport and physical activity sector
The European Report has been developed from an analysis of the contributions received from National Coordinators, inputs from consultation and results from the research activities.
The aims of the European Report were:
- to describe sport and education systems across the European Union;
- to present new knowledge gathered for the sector in terms of employment and skills;
- to propose concrete conclusions and recommendations / priority actions for implementation at the European level.

A European Fact Sheet
A European Fact Sheet was produced and professionally designed to summarise main characteristics of the European sport labour market and main findings from the European Employer Skills Survey. The idea was to have a short document presenting in a simple and straight forward way the new knowledge and data collated through the ESSA project on the EU sport labour market.

28 National Reports: Analysis of labour market realities and challenges in the sport and physical activity sector
A national report per country gathering all information, data and statistics collated through the project as well as specific priority action plan and set of concrete priority actions to be implemented. In countries with a national coordinator as well as Spain a full detailed report was produced whereas in countries with no ESSA-Sport partner no consultation was carried out so the national reports do not include consultation outputs and detailed action plan.

A National summary Fact Sheet per country was produced and professionally designed to summarise main characteristics of the sport labour market and main findings from the European Employer Skills Survey. The idea was to have a short document easy to read and dispatch with figures, numbers, infographics and illustrations to present the realities and challenges of the sport labour market in each EU member country.
