On the occasion of the 39th ANCI (Associazione Nazionale Comuni Italiani) National Assembly, held in Bergamo, the winners of the first national edition and the sixth regional edition of the Premio Innovazione & Sviluppo Next Generation were awarded. The award, promoted by the EPSI member ANCI Piemonte, ANCI Nazionale and ANFoV, with the patronage of the European Parliament, the Piedmont Region and the Regional Council, aims to select examples of successful innovative projects carried out by public administrations, such as municipalities and other public bodies.
A total of 7 awards and 5 special mentions were assigned to selected examples of innovation, both at the national level and in Piedmont region. This year EPSI sponsored a Special Award dedicated to innovation in sport and specifically aimed at candidatures coming from the Piedmont region. The Special Sport Prize powered by EPSI consists of EUR 1,000 in cash and EUR 15,000 in services aimed at accompanying the selected initiative in the realization of a European project. Thanks to the methodology EPSI has developed throughout the years, the award winner will be helped to develop its project idea, select the right partners and draft an EU-project application with the ultimate goal of securing funds to implement the different actions.
EPSI Special Sport Prize went to the Municipality of Rovasenda, in the province of Vercelli, with the project “Rovasenda un Feudo nella Baraggia. A thousand-year history towards a sustainable future (Cultural and social regeneration of the Borgo Storico)”, which was selected for the special commitment shown in combining sport, sustainable mobility and tourism development, so that this model can act as a multiplier for supporting territorial marketing policies and the repopulation of inland areas.
