The Balmes University Foundation , established on 9 January 1985, is the titular entity of the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia. Its purposes are to promote the planning, orientation, creation and development of university and higher education studies; to carry out postgraduate training tasks and scientific and cultural research; to promote research and knowledge transfer; to edit and disseminate bibliographic, audiovisual and digital publications for pedagogical and scientific purposes; to grant prizes, scholarships and grants for studies and work related to its own activities; and to promote the economic promotion and activities with social purposes in the territory.
