EPSI Conference 2012 – Conference Programme
A selection of interesting keynote speeches will take place on the first conference day, Wednesday April 18th. Top speakers from Sports Industry, Sports organizations and the EU commissions will address the sports and innovation climate and chances in today’s European sports innovation network. We are proud to announce that the following keynote speakers have confirmed their attendance for EPSI 2012: Mr. Frank Dassler, General Counselor of adidas and President of FESI, Mr. Dick Hendriks, President of Ten Cate Advanced Textiles, Mr. Hans van Breukelen and Mr. George de Jong, Director Sports & Technology and Director InnoSportNL resp.
After the keynote sessions the experts seek a constructive dialogue with their audience by an in-depth panel discussion session. This will allow attendees to debate on the presented topics in more detail, and ask questions. Attendees are likely to walk away with a broader perspective on how the sports industry is positioned in the European arena nowadays and in the future.
The networking continues during the ice breaking reception and conference dinner at a special historical location in Delft where cultural creativity and innovation emerge!
EPSI conference Day 2: New thinking, new possibilities
On Thursday the 19th of April we go into the depth to reach the scientific core of the European research and development topics. The day will start with a plenary session where all EPSI Research committee leaders briefly present their topics: The Consumer, Materials and Technology, Processes and Sports Information systems. This is followed by break-out walking lunch session in which you will discuss each topic in more detail in small groups including the research committee leaders themselves. This gives every attendee the opportunity to select a workshop topic that fits their personal interest. In the afternoon a series of workshops will be open to all attendees of the conference. These workshops provide an opportunity to discuss and explore emerging areas of sports innovation research and nucleate concepts for collaboration. Workshops will focus on a variety of aspects of knowledge, established concerns and new ideas in the field of sports innovation. The goal of the workshops is to share understandings and experiences, to foster research communities, to learn from each other and to envision future directions. Ultimately, this will lead to the strengthening to existing corporations and to the nucleation of new partnerships in the field of sports innovation.
This intensive day closes with guided tour through Delft and an enjoyable musical event.
EPSI conference Day 3: International sports innovation research meets Dutch innovation in practice
This last day of the conference we will visit the InnoSportLab The Hague, Sailing the sea of innovation! During this day it becomes clear how the success of collaboration in the so called ‘golden triangle’ works through the field lab approach. The generic model of cooperation between sports, business and knowledge institutions is illustrated by the current projects in the sailing field lab. Presentations and discussions provide the attendees the hands on feeling on how a field lab works in practice as a breeding ground for innovation. This day will be concluded with lunch at the harbour of Scheveningen.
