Starting in 2025, the World Capital of Sport and the European Capital of Sport, and other 47 entities will join the EPSI network. These new members will benefit from EPSI’s services, empowering them to drive impactful sport initiatives in their respective geographical communities.
On December 12, ACES celebrated its 25th anniversary with an extraordinary Awards Gala held at the European Parliament bringing together policymakers and key stakeholders from across Europe. EPSI participated in the ceremony and the Executive Director of EPSI Alberto Bichi announced officially the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between EPSI and ACES signed in July 2024, which allows the awardees to access EPSI’s services for 2025 and increase their opportunities to develop their sports sector. This collaboration underscores the shared dedication to fostering excellence and supporting recognition in the European sports sector.
As a result of this agreement, 49 new entities from all over Europe will join the EPSI network, including the World Capital of Sport: Principality of Monaco, the European Capital of Sport: Tallinn (Estonia), alongside 15 European Towns of Sport, 23 European Cities of Sport, 1 European Island of Sport, 3 European Communities of Sport, 3 European Regions of Sport, 1 European Capital of Winter Sports, and 1 European Capital of Integration and Volunteering.
These new members will gain access to EPSI’s services based on its 3 pillars – fundraising, business creation, and lobbying – aimed at fostering innovation, collaboration, and growth within the sports ecosystem.
To welcome these awardees, EPSI and ACES will co-host a dedicated webinar on January 16, 2025, at 5 PM. This online session will introduce EPSI’s extensive service offerings, empowering the awarded entities to take advantage from the membership benefits. From networking opportunities and business creation to expert project development support, EPSI’s services are designed to enhance the impact of sports in their geographical context.
The partnership between EPSI and ACES represents more than a formal agreement: it symbolizes a shared vision for the future of sports in Europe. This collaboration promises to drive sustainable development, promote health, and foster community engagement through sports, setting a new benchmark for excellence across the continent.
